As a hiring manager…
I have reviewed thousands of cover letters and resumes and have interviewed hundreds of applicants and can safely say that 95% of job seekers are approaching companies the wrong way.
If you are looking for a job right now…
Then make sure you do not make these 3 common job search mistakes:
MISTAKE 1 – Blasting Out Resumes
On average, out of 1000 cover letters and resumes that I receive per job posting, I can immediately tell that 85% of the people who have applied have not even thoroughly read the job description and are just blasting out resumes.
Guess what happens?

Stop blasting out resumes and wasting yours and the hiring managers time.
MISTAKE 2 – Lack Of Preparation
If you really want to work at a company, then take the time to learn more about them.
I generally set up a quick call with potential applicants and ask them a few screening questions before I bring them in for a formal interview. Seven times out of ten they are unprepared and lack an understanding of who we are and what we do.
Guess what?

Do your homework and be prepared.
MISTAKE 3 – Lack Of Confidence
When you do finally speak or meet with a company, be ready to step up and be confident. When a company hires you they are “buying” you.
Do you know what people want more than anything else when they buy something?
Certainty.
They want the certainty of knowing that you are the best person for the job.
Your confidence gives them confidence.
If you lack self-confidence, work on that before you approach companies otherwise you lower your chances of getting an interview or job offer.
