Anger Management Tips
The first step in healing your anger is to understand that you are 100% in control of your life and emotions.
In this step, you must come to appreciate and respect the fact that life is meaningless and that you have the power to give it meaning.
What does this mean?
It means that every situation in your life is neutral and void of meaning until you choose to give it a meaning.
Most people who become angry do so because they feel powerless and therefore become frustrated with their circumstances.
This is the fallacy.
You are always 100% in control of your life because you get to decide what life means.
Whenever some situation in your life presents itself, you get to determine if it is “good” or “bad”.
So when something happens, if you become angry or frustrated, you have chosen to define that situation in a negative manner that causes you to become angry.
You are absolutely in control of your life.
It is your job to either:
A. Find compassion and choose to let it roll off you
B. Not take it personally and let it go immediately
C. Choose to respond (instead of react) from a place of love
People who become angry are usually not breathing very well and therefore react from a place of fear or frustration.
It happens instantly with very little thought put into it.
You cannot control outside circumstances.
You cannot control peoples behavior and the world around you.
What you can control is your response to those situations.
The only way to truly heal and transform anger is by:
Stop taking things personally
Let situations roll off you
Learn to breathe slow and deep
Find the humor in life and laugh at them
Learn to be a loving and compassionate person
Once you do this, then when situations arise that could make you angry, they won’t because you will behave in a different manner.
