TIPS FOR LEARNING & A GOOD EDUCATION
1. Follow Your Excitement
Your excitement is the key to your education. Excitement is literally your body’s translation of who you are. Trust it.
Don’t waste your time in learning things that have nothing to do with your excitement. Your job is not to know everything.
Don’t sweat the details, just follow your excitement and it will reveal to you what you need to learn each day.
2. Be Curious & Ask Good Questions
Having a curious mind is paramount to getting a quality education. And it all starts by asking good questions.
Life is a school unto itself that will reveal to you who you are.
By being curious and asking good questions, you will gather the information that is most relevant to you.
3. Learn To Listen
Listening is an art form unto itself.
Once you have asked some good questions now it is time to listen. But don’t just “hear” what the person is saying. Take time to absorb it and process what the teacher is saying.
You will learn everything you need to learn if you just listen well.
4. Get Your Hands Dirty
After you have taken in some information or knowledge, now it is time to take action and apply what you have learned.
Information is useless if you do not do something with it.
See the information that you have gathered as a hammer, nails, and some wood. Once you have gathered your tools, now go out and start using them to see how they work and what you can build with them.
It is only through experience when your knowledge becomes wisdom.
5. Master The Details
As you apply your knowledge, never underestimate the power of details.
Life is in the details and you must master them through repetition.
Whether you are a designer, developer, writer, teacher, and so on, your education will get mastered through your repetition of the details.
6. Learn To Teach & Teach To Learn
Teaching what you know will be your true doctorate degree.
For you to truly master anything, you must be able to teach it.
It is through the teaching where you will refine what you have learned because now you must be extremely conscious of what you are passing on to someone else as you don’t want it to be inaccurate.
There is a great responsibility that comes with teaching.
